Frequently Asked Questions
Question: When can I schedule you for photos?
Answer: When the property is ready to photograph and all work is complete i.e. Contractors, Cleaners, etc. We do this full-time and shoots are scheduled between 10 AM and 4 PM depending on season of year. Twilight shoots are sometimes different. We work Monday through Friday, but if you have a compelling reason to have a shoot done on a Saturday or Sunday, sometimes it can be done, for an additional fee. (When photographers are available.)
Question: How long does it take?
Answer: Depends on size of property and what services are ordered. It could be anywhere from 1 to 4 hours.
Question: How and when do I pay you?
Answer: We accept all major credit cards, including Discover and American Express, Cash or Checks. Typically payments need to be made the day of shoot and photos will be released to you when paid for, or by using our secure online payment system before photos are released to you.
Question: How soon will I receive my still photos?
Answer: Usually photos will be finished by the next business day. Rush service can be requested for same day delivery for an additional fee.
Question: Can I reschedule my listing photo shoot?
Answer: Yes. Let us know as much in advance as possible or at least 24 hrs. With the online booking system, it is setup for 24hrs, which you have access to reschedule yourself. Keep in mind your time slot is valuable and when we are busy it might be days before we can shoot it again. Cancelling on the scheduled day, a No Show Fee may be charged. If due to bad weather we reserve the right to reschedule, although light rain is never an issue and sky’s in photos will be replaced with broken clouds with blue sky mixed.
Question: Do you edit my photos?
Answer: Always. This is what sets us apart from most. Our editing work includes exposure level, contrast, highlights, shadows, black density, clarity, vibrancy, colors, temperature, and EASY cloning (when requested). See the next question on "Photoshopping out" unwanted items.
Question: Will you "Photoshop" out items we don't want in the photos?
Answer: Maybe. If it's a very simple thing like a small item surrounded by what you would rather show (grass, structure, etc) then we will probably do that for free. But anything beyond "very simple" can add considerable time to our work and you will be charged for that work depending on the complexity of the work. Expect to pay $40 per hour for detailed or extensive cloning. We will not change structural or anything that would delude the actual property for example large holes in walls. Properties need to be ready to shoot and we are not there to Virtually Clean them up. Please send out our photo preparation guide to your clients so the home will show at its best.
Question: Can I request edits to basic walkthrough videos after completed?
Answer: No, unless we made a mistake. Video editing and rendering is a time extensive process. Our videos are high quality, with a fast turnaround, by having the same format to keep them affordable. One small change could mean hours editing, re-rendering and uploading. If customer edits were allowed it would be a cost of 5 times as much what we charge. (Custom videos purchased will have a proof sent so changes can be made before final rendering.)
Question: Once I purchase photos or a tour do I own the images?
Answer: No, Steve Wilburn Photo retains the copyrights as is standard practice in the photography industry. You purchase a single use, non-transferable, non-exclusive image license. Usage rights are granted to the primary listing agent for the duration of their active listing contract. Photos/Media may be used by the primary listing agent to market & sell the subject property in a customary manner. If a third party is interested in the images they must contact us. Photos are also NOT to be altered or Photoshopped in any way. Photos can be resized or cropped if needed.
